John Y. Lee assists clients with real estate and business transactional matters, including business owners and multifamily and commercial property clients.

For more than 15 years, John has served as a trusted resource, delivering strategic precision across asset classes, including multifamily apartment communities, commercial retail and office properties, industrial warehouses, and hospitality properties. His expertise encompasses all facets of transactions, from retail and commercial leasing to purchase and sale agreements for acquisitions and dispositions. Additionally, he provides deep knowledge of property tax planning and real estate financing, including conventional options and Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac loans.

Before joining Weitzen Samuth Sinex & Sherry LLP as a Partner, John practiced at a prominent San Diego AmLaw 200 firm. His unique academic background combines a Juris Doctor and a Master of Laws in Taxation, which enables him to navigate the intersection of high-stakes real estate deals and sophisticated tax law with academic precision.

Dedicated to his professional community, John is an active member of the San Diego County Bar Association and the American Bar Association’s Tax and Real Estate Sections. He also supports the local community through his work with the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program.
